How we came about
How beautiful that in naming this business to honor Mr. Augie, we found the meaning of the word “august”: “Inspiring reverence or admiration; of supreme dignity or grandeur; majestic.”
Late Spring, 2014: My friend August “Augie” Happ moved back to his home in Pahrump after living in Assisted Living in Central California to support his wife. His desire was to remain living life to its fullest, independently and in his own home. As his needs increased with age, so did the time Karen & Brent Taylor invested in their friendship with him, becoming personal “liaisons” for him and his out-of-state children. Eventually, his needs become enough to support the opening of a business, one that would honor him with dignity and respect. Each program and service provided by August Services was first developed and enhanced through this relationship.
